IMPORTANT UPDATE:

ON FRIDAY OCTOBER 14, THE HEARING IN MUMIA’S CASE WAS POSTPONED ONE WEEK FROM OCTOBER 19 TO OCTOBER 26

This year is the 40th anniversary of Mumia’s unjust conviction, a clear frame-up by a corrupt police occupation. We are in court with a new legal appeal based on recently discovered and suppressed evidence in his case. We are continuing the 40-year struggle to win his freedom. This is a struggle that overturned his death sentence, won his release from solitary confinement, gained him hepatitis C treatment, heart, and eye surgery, and more recently restored treatment of his severe skin condition. Now we need to continue this struggle to overturn his wrongful conviction and incarceration!!

We will be gathering on the corner of 17th Street and Union Square East (Park Avenue South) in Manhattan starting at 5:30 AM on Wednesday, Octbober 26, 2022, planning to depart at about 6 AM to travel to and from a major rally in Philadelphia for Mumia Abu-Jamal!!

Due to the ongoing public health crisis, we ask that everyone plan to get a COVID test 2 to 5 days before the trip, in solidarity with each other, and plan to remain masked while in the vehicles. We ask for a $30 donation to cover the costs of arranging the event transportation. If you are able to donate more than this to cover all or part of a scholarship for another rider, this will also be greatly appreciated.

Scholarships will be available for anyone who needs help affording the trip. No one who wants to go to this rally to support Mumia Abu-Jamal should hesitate to participate because of finances. We have many supporters who are always glad to help finance these scholarships.
