Mumia is fighting not only for himself but for the estimated ten thousand other Pennsylvania prisoners infected with Hepatitis-C.
We will meet at 9AM on the West side of City Hall before going to the City Council. We are urging City Council to investigate the inequities people face in accessing antiviral medications that cure Hepatitis C. The medication is out of reach for far too many. We are also demanding that Corizon Health Care, which has the contract for the Philadelphia County Jails, be made to stop denying prisoners the antiviral cure for the HCV virus. As many as 10,000 PA prisoners are being denied hep C treatment, affecting all of our communities.
