A West Philadelphia rally and march for Mumia Abu-Jamal is being planned for the afternoon of Saturday, July 5, 2025, to commemorate the anniversary of his unjust 1982 conviction.

The rally will begin at around 1 PM at the Malcolm X Memorial Park in West Philadelphia.
After we gather at the memorial, we will march through the neighborhood to another nearby park where we will hear from additional speakers and performers, as well as talk to folks in the community on the issues that concern them.
Our goal is to determine how best to connect Mumia’s unjust conviction and incarceration to the issues raised by the community and engage them directly in future strategic organizing, both to help address these community issues and to win Mumia’s freedom.
Transportation to and from the event will be provided as usual by the Free Mumia Abu-Jamal Coalition NYC.
