Philly DA Appeals Recent Court Decision to US Supreme Court
A Federal Court ruled Mumia’s Death-Sentence unconstitutional in April. Now Seth Williams, the District Attorney of Philadelphia has appealed to the US Supreme court, asking to re-instate the death penalty in order to kill Mumia.
“Four federal judges have reviewed Mr. Abu-Jamal’s case and found his death sentence to be unconstitutional. The Third Circuit’s recent opinion reflects a detailed analysis demonstrating that their unanimous decision is well-supported by Supreme Court precedent. LDF (NAACP Legal Defense Fund, Mumia’s defense) believes that this carefully reasoned analysis will stand.”
